Shibuya Crafting Guide: Materials, Yen, Grade & Technique Requirements

Last updated:

Crafting requirements in Shibuya [Beta] explained: recipe materials, Yen unlock costs, sorcerer grade gates and the armor and weapons that also need a specific technique.

Quick answer

To craft armor or a weapon in Shibuya [Beta] you must meet the two lists on its recipe: Crafting Requirements (exact materials in exact counts) and Unlock Requirements (a Yen cost and, for armor, a sorcerer grade — some pieces also require one specific technique).

  • Grade 4 armor: 600–900 Yen plus low-tier materials like Mummy Wraps, Fly Wings and Mushroom Caps
  • Base weapons: 4x Mummy Wraps or 4x Mushroom Caps, plus 4x Grade 4 Parts [Any], at a 5K Yen unlock
  • Special Grade armor: 14K–20K Yen and materials like King's Tsuba and Centipede Plating; two pieces are technique-locked
  • Sunforged weapons: 4x Sand Cores, 4x Brute Teeth and 2x Hardened Sand Fists at 60K Yen

How every crafting recipe is structured

Every craftable item in Shibuya [Beta], armor and weapons alike, presents the same two requirement lists:

Crafting Requirements — the materials the craft consumes, in exact quantities. The Padded Gakuran, for example, needs 3x Mummy Wraps and 2x Mushroom Caps.

Unlock Requirements — the conditions to actually perform the craft: a Yen payment and, on armor recipes, a sorcerer grade. The same Padded Gakuran unlocks at 600 Yen and Grade 4. Some recipes add one more line here: a technique requirement, such as must be a Flame user.

A craft only goes through when everything matches at once: you hold the listed materials, you can pay the Yen, and your grade — plus your technique, where the recipe names one — qualifies. Requirements are strictly per item, so unlocking one piece does nothing for the next. The details below reflect the recipe index as of November 2, 2026.

Armor comes in four craftable grades — Grade 4, Grade 2, Grade 1 and Special Grade — and weapon crafting covers nine types: Greatswords, Fists, Scythes, Axes, Spears, Katanas, Daggers, Rapiers and Longswords.

Grade 4 armor: the entry recipes

Grade 4 is the entry armor tier, and its recipes are the cheapest in the recipe index: 600–900 Yen and low-tier materials.

Data table

Sporecap Hood2x Drone Wings, 3x Mushroom Caps800 Yen, Grade 4
Drone-Silk Wrap2x Fly Wings, 4x Drone Wings850 Yen, Grade 4

The Padded Gakuran, the cheapest of the five, also shows what entry armor returns for its 600 Yen and materials: +2% DMG Reduction and +3% Max HP. When you are short on an ingredient, the how to get crafting materials page covers where each drop comes from, and how to get Yen covers the unlock payments.

Mid-tier armor: higher grades and technique locks

Past Grade 4, recipes tighten in two ways. The unlock grade climbs, and some recipes add a technique line: those recipes only open to users of the listed technique. If your cursed technique doesn't match that line, the Yen and materials are irrelevant — the recipe is simply not available to you.

Stormhide, Lumen Shroud and Speaker's Collar appear in the index as technique-locked recipes, but this guide spells out the full unlock cost only for Ember Coat and Frostweave. Grade 1 armor is craftable too and follows the same two-list format; the tables in this guide cover the tiers the current recipe index spells out in full.

Special Grade armor: 14K–20K Yen

The top armor tier asks for the most on every axis: material lists built from pieces like King's Tsuba and Centipede Plating, a Special Grade unlock and the largest Yen costs in the armor index. Two of the five listed pieces also carry technique locks.

Oni Horn Mail and Bearer's Vestments are worth noting as a pair: they use identical material lists and the same 14K Yen Special Grade unlock, so the difference between them is the finished piece, not what you bring. For a deeper stat breakdown, see the special grade armor guide.

Weapon recipes: shared lists, different Fold Bonuses

Weapon crafting is easier to plan because almost every base weapon shares one recipe. Greatswords, Fists, Scythes, Axes and Spears all use 4x Mummy Wraps plus 4x Grade 4 Parts [Any]; Katanas, Daggers, Rapiers and Longswords swap the wraps for 4x Mushroom Caps while keeping the same [Any] parts slot. Both groups unlock at 5K Yen — that Yen figure is the entire unlock requirement shown for these entries.

Since the recipe is identical across a weapon family, the variant you pick is a stat decision, not a material one: each weapon differs only in its Fold Bonus. The Breaker Greatsword, for instance, grants Posture DMG +12% and DMG +6% at the cost of Speed -10%. The weapon fold bonuses page has the full comparison.

Sunforged weapons: one recipe, 60K Yen

At the top of the weapon price range sit the Sunforged weapons, and all nine types — Greatsword, Fist, Scythe, Axe, Spear, Dagger, Katana, Rapier and Longsword — share a single recipe: 4x Sand Cores, 4x Brute Teeth and 2x Hardened Sand Fists, unlocked at 60K Yen. Sunforged gear also carries a built-in downside to weigh before you spend: every Sunforged Fold Bonus includes a [Sunforged] DEF decrease of 15% alongside its positive bonuses. The sunforged weapons guide covers the individual bonuses.

What to have ready before you craft

Checklist

  • Materials for the Crafting Requirements

Each recipe names exact items and counts — for example, 3x Mummy Wraps and 2x Mushroom Caps for the Padded Gakuran.

  • Yen for the unlock

Armor runs from 600 Yen at Grade 4 to 20K Yen at Special Grade; weapons ask 5K Yen for base pieces and 60K Yen for Sunforged.

  • The listed sorcerer grade

Grade 4 is the entry gate for armor; higher pieces require Grade 2, Grade 1 or Special Grade.

  • A matching technique where required

Flame, Ice, Lightning, Light, Cursed Speech, Limitless and Shrine recipes only open to users of those techniques.

For the farming side of each requirement, start with the crafting-materials and Yen guides linked above. The sorcerer grades page explains the rank ladder, and the armor and weapons overviews show what each finished piece delivers once you have met its requirements.
