Shibuya Weapon Fold Bonuses: Every Variant's Trade-Off
What Fold Bonus modifiers do on every Shibuya weapon variant — Breaker, Warden, Fury, Vital, Striker, Swift, Artisan, Flowing, Hexed and Sunforged — and how to pick the trade-off that fits your playstyle.
Quick answer
A Fold Bonus is the listed set of percentage stat modifiers carried by every craftable weapon variant in Roblox Shibuya [Beta]. Each standard variant boosts two stats and cuts exactly one, so picking a variant means picking a trade-off.
- Raw damage and mobility: Fury — DMG +12%, Speed +6%, DEF -10%
- M1 combo fighters: Striker — M1 DMG +12%, Posture DMG +6%, Skill DMG -10%
- Skill and CE players: Artisan, Flowing or Hexed
- Defense: Warden or Vital
- Pure mobility: Swift
- Posture damage: Breaker

What Fold Bonuses actually do
Shibuya [Beta] lets you craft several weapon families — Greatswords, Fists, Axes, Daggers, Katanas, Spears, Rapiers and Longswords — and each family comes in named variants such as Breaker, Warden, Fury, Vital, Striker, Swift, Artisan, Flowing, Hexed and Sunforged. Every variant carries its own listed Fold Bonus: a set of percentage stat modifiers, listed alongside its crafting recipe.
The standard variants share one shape. One headline stat gets the big boost, usually +12%. A second stat gets a smaller boost, in the +5–9% range. And exactly one stat takes a flat -10% penalty. You are never just picking buffs — you are picking which single part of your kit gets weaker every time you draw that weapon.
The fastest way to compare variants is to start from the penalty, because every standard variant gives up exactly one stat:
- Speed -10%: Breaker, Warden
- DEF -10%: Fury, Swift, Hexed
- DMG -10%: Vital
- M1 DMG -10%: Artisan
- Skill DMG -10%: Striker
- Posture DMG -10%: Flowing
Every standard variant's Fold Bonus
Standard weapon variant Fold Bonuses
| Variant | Stat boosts | Penalty | Seen on |
|---|---|---|---|
| Breaker | Posture DMG +12%, DMG +6% | Speed -10% | Greatsword, Fist, Scythe, Katana |
| Warden | DEF +12%, Posture DMG +6% | Speed -10% | Greatsword, Fist, Axe, Longsword |
| Fury | DMG +12%, Speed +6% | DEF -10% | Greatsword, Fist, Scythe, Dagger, Katana |
| Vital | CE Regen +9%, DEF +9% (Greatsword and Fist) or DEF +6% (Axe) | DMG -10% | Greatsword, Fist, Axe |
| Striker | M1 DMG +12%, Posture DMG +6% | Skill DMG -10% | Greatsword, Fist, Dagger, Spear, Longsword |
| Swift | Speed +12%, M1 DMG +6% | DEF -10% | Fist, Daggers, Katana, Spear, Rapier |
| Artisan | Skill DMG +12%, CE Regen +6% | M1 DMG -10% | Fist, Dagger, Katana |
| Flowing | CE Regen +12%, Maximum CE +6% | Posture DMG -10% | Dagger, Katana, Spear |
| Hexed | Maximum CE +12%, Skill DMG +6% | DEF -10% | Dagger, Katana |
Vital is the one soft exception to the usual shape: its two boosts sit at +9% and +9%/+6% instead of including a +12% headline. Everything else follows the same one-big, one-small, one-penalty pattern. Every variant that shares a name also shares the exact same Fold Bonus — a Breaker Katana folds the same as a Breaker Greatsword — which means your chosen trade-off is a line you can follow across every family it exists on. It does not exist on all of them: Hexed only appears on Daggers and Katanas, Flowing only on Daggers, Katanas and Spears, and Vital only on Greatswords, Fists and Axes, so check the Seen on column before settling on a pick.
Which trade-off fits your playstyle
Since each variant lists its own trade-off, the real decision is how you like to fight.
Raw aggression: Fury. Fury is the only standard variant that raises damage and speed at once — DMG +12% and Speed +6% — paying for it with DEF -10%. You hit harder and move faster, but you are more fragile when a fight turns around.
Basic-attack fighters: Striker or Swift. Striker builds your kit around M1s: M1 DMG +12% plus Posture DMG +6%, with Skill DMG -10% as the price. If you would rather be hard to pin down than hit hard, Swift takes the opposite deal — Speed +12% with a smaller M1 DMG +6%, giving up DEF -10%.
Skill and cursed-energy players: Artisan, Flowing or Hexed. These three lines feed different parts of a technique-focused kit. Artisan boosts the skills themselves (Skill DMG +12%, CE Regen +6%) but weakens your basic attacks (M1 DMG -10%). Flowing is the cursed-energy engine — CE Regen +12% and Maximum CE +6% — at the cost of Posture DMG -10%. Hexed splits the difference, stacking Maximum CE +12% and Skill DMG +6% while taking DEF -10%.
Defensive players: Warden or Vital. Warden is the straight defense line — DEF +12% and Posture DMG +6%, slowed by Speed -10%. Vital leans toward sustain instead: CE Regen +9% plus DEF +9% on the Greatsword and Fist or +6% on the Axe, paid for with DMG -10%.
Posture breakers: Breaker. Breaker is the dedicated posture line — Posture DMG +12% and DMG +6%, bought with Speed -10%. If you also want defense, Warden's +6% Posture DMG is a partial nod in the same direction.
Sunforged: bigger boosts, a named downside
Sunforged variants sit above the standard lines and play by their own rules. Each carries four Fold Bonus lines instead of three, and every Sunforged weapon in every family shares the same named downside: [Sunforged] DEF decreases by 15%. The positive values are not shared across the line the way standard variants share theirs — each family rolls its own spread. Documented examples:
- Sunforged Greatsword: Posture DMG +12%, DMG +8%, DEF +5%, [Sunforged] DEF -15%
- Sunforged Katana: DMG +9%, Speed +7%, M1 DMG +5%, [Sunforged] DEF -15%
- Sunforged Spear: DMG +8%, Posture DMG +8%, M1 DMG -5%, [Sunforged] DEF -15%
Even the Greatsword, which lists DEF +5% as a boost, still carries the full [Sunforged] DEF -15% downside as a separate line — weigh that against the larger positive spread before committing. The full Sunforged breakdown lives on the Shibuya sunforged weapons page.
What it costs to craft a variant
Each variant's recipe lists its Fold Bonus, so compare the listed trade-offs before you unlock and craft. Standard variants unlock at 5K Yen and then craft from materials:
- Greatswords, Fists, Axes, Spears: 4x Mummy Wraps + 4x Grade 4 Parts [Any]
- Daggers, Katanas, Rapiers, Longswords: 4x Mushroom Caps + 4x Grade 4 Parts [Any]
Sunforged runs its own steeper recipe: a 60K Yen unlock plus 4x Sand Cores, 4x Brute Teeth and 2x Hardened Sand Fists. If you are short on materials or yen, the how to get crafting materials and how to get yen pages cover the farming routes, and the Shibuya crafting guide explains crafting itself. The complete weapon-by-weapon recipe list is on Shibuya weapons.
