Roblox Shibuya Races: The Documented Races, Rarity, Perks and Variants

Last updated:

The five races documented for Roblox Shibuya [Beta], from Mythic Death Painting to the Common Human and Cursed Spirit, with roll chances, innate perks and variants for each.

Every new campaign in Roblox Shibuya [Beta] opens in the character builder, where you roll RNG for a race and a set of stats. Five races are documented across four rarity tiers: Death Painting (Mythic, 2%), Mutated Corpse (Legendary, 4%), Incarnated Sorcerer (Rare, 7%), and the Common tier at 87%, home to Human and Cursed Spirit. Every race has innate perks of its own, and the two rarest lineages also come in variants that change what you get.

How you roll a race, and how Rerolls fit in

The character builder is where each campaign begins: you take your chances with RNG on a race and favourable stats to get a head start on your server-wide peers. If the pull disappoints, the customisation menu is where you can redeem codes for more Rerolls or buy extra Rerolls with Robux. Because the Common tier accounts for 87% of results, spare Rerolls are the practical way to keep chasing a Mythic or Legendary lineage. Our Shibuya codes page tracks the current codes, and the reroll guide covers the whole process.

Death Painting — the Mythic race (2%)

Death Painting is the rarest lineage in Shibuya at a 2% roll chance and the only race documented in the Mythic tier — the peak of Shibuya society and the most sought-after lineages in the game. Its kit combines three passives with one skill:

  • Brotherhood (Passive) — you sense friendly Death Paintings in the same Guild or Party through walls, so allies of your lineage stay trackable even through cover.
  • Rot (Passive) — when a player attempts to apply bleed, toxic blood may burst onto the opponent as retaliation.
  • Cursed Reinforcement (Passive) — the same defensive stack the Cursed Spirit race gets: it absorbs hits and reduces damage.
  • Blood Throw (Skill) — roll blood into your fist and hurl it at a target; a close-range attack.

Death Painting also has a variant: the Blue Demon variant gains a Demon Shift at Grade 2. If you are climbing toward that grade, the sorcerer grades guide maps out the ladder.

Mutated Corpse — the Legendary race (4%)

Mutated Corpse is the Legendary tier's race at a 4% roll chance. Legendary is where most players settle comfortably rather than risk rolling something worse higher up, and these races have a lot to offer in long-term play.

The standard Mutated Corpse plays as a Panda with two forms:

  • Big form — gain x2 Side and +40% Non-Technique Damage, take 15% less damage, but become 8% slower.
  • Small form — become half the size and 15% quicker.

Big form trades speed for damage and bulk; small form trades size for speed. The Tubes variant changes the skill instead of the forms: it gets Overcharge rather than Switch Types, its Tubes glow in your Cursed Energy colour, and when hit, the Tubes explode and splash enemies, damaging them.

Incarnated Sorcerer — the Rare race (7%)

Incarnated Sorcerer is the Rare tier's race at a 7% roll chance — only one step above Common on the ladder, yet with an incredibly low roll rate in comparison. The tier's skills are niche and situational, making it a comfortable roll but not an untouchable one. Incarnated Sorcerer's own perks lean clearly toward a technique playstyle:

  • +10% more Cursed Technique DMG, innately.
  • A free Cursed Technique Skill before completing the Trial.

The second perk needs a little context: normally, the Trial is how you attain a Cursed Technique, taken via Yuki once you are Grade 2 or higher. An Incarnated Sorcerer gets a technique skill before ever reaching that milestone, so the race gives you part of the kit before other players earn it. Our how to get cursed techniques guide covers the normal Trial route.

Human and Cursed Spirit — the Common races (87%)

The remaining 87% of rolls land in the Common tier, split between two races with simple but real perks:

  • Human — an innate +10% HP buffer, letting you tank more hits from opponents before falling.
  • Cursed Spirit — a passive Cursed Reinforcement, the defensive stack that absorbs hits and reduces damage (the same passive Death Painting carries).

As a pair they are fairly similar, which makes them fairly interchangeable — but being the most common also makes them unreliably weak as primary choices. Both perks do honest work in a fight, yet if neither appeals, Rerolls from codes or Robux are the way back into the roll.
