Shibuya Reroll Guide: How to Get Rerolls and Change Your Race, Clan or Cursed Technique

Last updated:

Rerolls in Shibuya [Beta] come from codes or Robux — there is no reliable way to farm them by playing. Where to redeem codes and when to reroll Race, Clan or Cursed Technique.

Quick answer

Rerolls in Shibuya [Beta] come from two sources: redeeming codes or buying them with Robux. There are no reliable free-to-play methods for farming rerolls organically as you play, so codes are your main free supply.

  • Rerolls redo your RNG character rolls: Race, Clan and Cursed Technique, plus separate reroll types for Face, Hair Color, Theme, Cursed Energy Color and Race Variant.
  • You can redeem codes on the character creation screen, in the in-game menu (press M), or in chat with ! in front of the code.
  • Codes rotate and expire, so pull the current working list from our Shibuya codes page.

Every campaign in Shibuya starts in the character builder, where your stats and traits are decided by RNG rolls. Because rerolls cannot be farmed reliably through normal play, it pays to know every way to restock and every spot that accepts a code before you spend anything.

What each reroll type changes

Shibuya keeps one reroll type per rolled option, and the types are not interchangeable. The three core rerolls change build-defining traits, while the appearance rerolls handle cosmetic options such as Face, Hair Color, Theme, Cursed Energy Color and Race Variant. Those smaller types are known mainly from code reward listings, which is also where you will pick most of them up:

How to get more rerolls

Redeem codes. Codes are the free route, and they come as bundles: one redemption can cover several reroll types at once. A code like 2000LIKES has handed out Cursed Technique, Race, Clan, Face, Hair Color and Black Flash Theme rerolls together, while codes such as goodnight and themererollpack target a single type each (Race rerolls and Theme rerolls, respectively). Codes rotate and expire as the game updates, so treat any snapshot as temporary — the maintained working list lives on our Shibuya codes page.

Buy them with Robux. While you are in the character customization menu, you can also purchase additional rerolls directly with Robux. Together with code redemption, that is the full list of supported ways to restock.

That short list matters because Shibuya has no dependable grind for rerolls: there are no reliable free-to-play methods for earning them organically as you play. Time spent in-game does not quietly accumulate rerolls, so redeem every working code first, keep Robux as the fallback, and save what you have for traits you actually care about.

The three places to redeem codes

  1. The character creation or customization screen. The code-redemption option sits in the upper-right corner of this screen, so you can stock up on reroll codes right where your first rolls happen.
  2. The in-game menu. Once you are in the game, press M to open the menu, type the code into the Enter Code field in the lower-left corner of the new window, and hit Enter. Finishing the tutorials first is optional — at least one guide confirms you can redeem without completing them.
  3. The chatbox. Send the code through chat with ! in front of it, in the form !publictesting.

A working code shows an on-screen message listing the rewards you received. If a code does not go through, double-check the letters — codes have to match exactly.

Spending rerolls well

Cursed Technique rerolls cover everything except Unique techniques

Cursed Technique Rerolls work for Common, Rare, Legendary and Mythic techniques, so nearly every technique in the game is within a reroll's reach. The exception is Unique rarity: Unique Cursed Techniques cannot be obtained with rerolls at all. Each one has its own unique obtainment method instead, which our how to get cursed techniques guide covers. To judge whether your current technique is worth keeping, the cursed technique tier list and our cursed techniques overview break the options down.

Clans: keep or reroll?

Clan buffs vary a lot, and community tier lists offer a simple rule of thumb for deciding:

Decision guide

Choose for your situation

You rolled a B-tier clan

Comfortable either way — these clans are solid but situational, so keep it or reroll without pressure.

You rolled a C-tier clan

Ideally reroll in favour of something better — they offer a few perks, but not much.

You rolled a D-tier common clan

Common clans in this tier have no buffs at all, so spend a reroll if you have one to spare.

For every clan's roll chance and perks, see our Shibuya clans overview and the clan tier list.

The Gojo exception

Normally, rolling a new clan means leaving the old one behind. The known exception is the Gojo clan: once its Six Eyes awaken — a 3% chance on the Gojo clan — you can roll off Gojo and still keep Six Eyes. An awakened Six Eyes therefore survives a clan reroll, so landing it does not lock you out of rerolling for a different clan later. Our Six Eyes guide covers the awakening itself.

Race rerolls follow the same one-item, one-roll pattern. What separates a Race roll worth keeping from reroll bait is laid out in our Shibuya races overview and race tier list.
