Shibuya Cursed Technique Tier List: Best CTs to Pursue or Keep

Last updated:

Which Shibuya [Beta] Cursed Technique should you pursue or keep? Every CT ranked from S to D with its rarity, drop chance and obtainment method, plus a keep-or-reroll guide and how to get Cursed Technique rerolls.

Your Cursed Technique is the core of your kit in Shibuya [Beta], so it pays to know which rolls to keep and which to replace. All rankings and drop chances below come from Gamezebo's Cursed Techniques tier list for Shibuya BETA, published November 5, 2026.

Quick answer

Pursue Shrine, Projection and Limitless — the S-tier Mythic techniques of the reroll pool at 0.22% each — and keep any Unique technique you already have, since rerolls can never grant Rikka, Divergent Fists or Heavenly Restriction. If you want a strong technique without chasing 0.22% odds, A-tier Ice and Blood at 11.1% are the realistic target, and Common C and D tier rolls are the ones worth replacing.

  • You unlock a Cursed Technique once you reach Grade 2.
  • Cursed Technique Rerolls change Common, Rare, Legendary and Mythic techniques, and come from Robux or free Shibuya codes.
  • Heavenly Restriction and Anti-Gravity are ranked S tier but marked currently unobtainable.

Every Cursed Technique at a glance

The table collects every technique in the current ranking with its tier, rarity and obtainment. Tier placement is the source's editorial ranking rather than a measured test, and the listed drop chances apply to the reroll pool — Unique techniques are excluded from rerolls entirely.

S tier: the strongest techniques — and the ones you can actually reach

Seven techniques make up S tier: Heavenly Restriction, Rikka, Divergent Fists, Shrine, Projection, Anti-Gravity and Limitless. For a player deciding what to chase, they split into two very different groups.

The three Unique techniques never appear in the reroll pool — each has its own obtainment method. Rikka is obtainable with Okkotsu, and Divergent Fists requires obtaining the Divergent Soul Item. Heavenly Restriction is the awkward one: the same source that lists a 1% chance to obtain it upon spawn also marks it currently unobtainable, so don't plan a build around it until it is actually back in the game. Their documented kits:

  • Heavenly Restriction — Overwhelming Slash (M1), Dosaku, Head Grab (Running M1 + M1), Head Grab Throw (Running M1 + M2), Head Grab Dropkick (Running M1 + E), Quiet Steps, Uppercut Followup, plus an Inventory Curse passive.
  • Rikka — Rikka Barrage, Rikka Slam, Rikka Uptilt, Pure Love.
  • Divergent Fists — Fakeout, Fakeout Infuse, Uppercut, Uppercut Infuse, Thrash.

On the reroll side, Shrine, Projection and Limitless are the Mythic techniques at 0.22% each — roughly a 1-in-450 roll. Anti-Gravity carries a 0.22% Mythic listing too, but like Heavenly Restriction it is marked currently unobtainable. In practice that leaves three techniques to hope for:

  • Shrine — Infused M1s, Dismantle Grab, Dismantle Range, Cleave, Cleave Unfuse, Cleave Air Variant, Spiderweb, Spiderweb Hold Variant.
  • Limitless — Infused M1s, Blue, Red (Grab Variant), Red (Range Variant), Lapse Assault, Lapse Assault (Infuse Variant), Blue + Lapse Assault.
  • Projection — Shatterstrike, Panel Combo, Taunt and Freeze Frame (a Cursed Technique Infuse), plus the Panel Shatterstrike passive: when you use Shatterstrike on an enemy caught in a frozen frame, you can instantly strike them to knock them away.

Whichever of these lands first, keep it — 0.22% is the rarest result the pool can give you.

A tier: the realistic goal while rerolling

Ice and Blood hold A tier, both Legendary at an 11.1% drop chance — about a one-in-nine result per roll.

  • Ice — Infused M1s, Ice Lunge, Frost Calm.
  • Blood — Infused M1s + T (which buffs your skills), Piercing Blood, Slicing Exorcism, Supernova.

Blood is also the technique whose skill shop is documented in-game: the "Teach me my technique." dialog with NPC Yuki Sato opens a purchase list showing Piercing Blood for ¥25,000, Slicing Exorcism for ¥12,000 and Supernovo for ¥40,000 — the shop's spelling of the move the tier list writes as Supernova. Those prices make yen matter for a Blood user, and the how to get yen guide covers earning it.

B tier: Rare techniques with complete kits

Flame, Light and Lightning make up B tier, all Rare at 22.06%.

  • Flame — Infused M1s, Ember Insects (with an air variant), Flaming Follow-up, Flame Pillar.
  • Light — Infused M1s, Spirit Summon, Jacob's Ladder, Blitz.
  • Lightning — Inuzuma, Raimei, Aerial Raimei, Kuru, and Lightning Claw, a Cursed Technique Infuse that attacks with a lightning claw to deal more damage and stun the enemy.

C and D tier: the rolls you will see most often

Common techniques fill 66.62% of the pool — roughly two of every three rolls. C tier holds Straw Doll and Mechamaru; D tier holds Cursed Speech and Moon Dregs. Mechamaru's documented hook is the Backup passive, which summons Mechamaru for a follow-up attack after you land a Critical Hit. Beyond that, these four are the techniques a reroll is for.

Keep it or reroll it?

Decision guide

Choose for your situation

Your technique is Heavenly Restriction, Rikka or Divergent Fists

Keep it. All three are S-tier Unique techniques that rerolls can never grant.

You rolled Shrine, Projection or Limitless

Keep it. These are the S-tier Mythic techniques of the reroll pool, at 0.22% each.

You have Ice or Blood

You want a strong technique without chasing 0.22% odds

Keep it — A tier at an 11.1% Legendary chance is a solid standing kit.

You specifically want S tier

Reroll, understanding that Shrine, Projection and Limitless are 0.22% rolls.

You have Flame, Light or Lightning

Keep one while you build up a stock of rerolls, then reroll if you want to push for A or S tier. All three are 22.06% Rare rolls.

You have Straw Doll, Mechamaru, Cursed Speech or Moon Dregs

You want to keep Mechamaru for its Backup passive

Reasonable — it is C tier, but Backup summons Mechamaru for a follow-up attack after a Critical Hit.

Any other C or D tier roll

Reroll once you have rerolls to spare; Commons are the easiest rolls to replace.

How to get a different Cursed Technique

  • Reach Grade 2 first. The main requirement to unlock a Cursed Technique is reaching Grade 2. If you are still working toward it, the progression guide and the sorcerer grades overview cover ranking up.
  • Reroll everything except Uniques. Cursed Technique Rerolls change Common, Rare, Legendary and Mythic techniques; see the reroll guide.
  • Buy rerolls or earn them free. Rerolls can be purchased with Robux or obtained by redeeming Shibuya codes — codes such as ctrerolls and sorryforlag have granted Cursed Technique rerolls. The Shibuya codes page keeps the current working list and rewards up to date.
  • Get Uniques outside the pool. Rikka is obtainable with Okkotsu and Divergent Fists requires the Divergent Soul Item, while Heavenly Restriction and Anti-Gravity are marked currently unobtainable — so don't burn rerolls expecting either. The how to get Cursed Techniques guide collects the routes.

The practical loop, then: hit Grade 2, stock free rerolls from codes, reroll away C and D tier Commons, and hold the first Mythic technique the pool hands you — Unique techniques arrive only through their own routes. For the broader picture beyond techniques, the main Shibuya tier list and the Cursed Techniques overview round out the rest of a build.
