Shibuya Tier List: How Races, Clans and Cursed Techniques Compare
A high-level Shibuya tier list comparing races, clans and cursed techniques, with judged top picks for race and clan, rarity rates for every system, and advice on which reroll to spend first.
Quick answer
Shibuya BETA has three rerollable build systems — Race, Clan and Cursed Technique — and rerolls alter all three. Which one to reroll first depends on the content you want: chase the Okkotsu clan first if you want Rika or the Rikka technique, because Okkotsu unlocks Rika and is the obtainment method for Rikka, which technique rerolls can never produce. Chase the Incarnated Sorcerer race first if you want your technique damage boosted, and spend Cursed Technique rerolls when the technique itself is the upgrade you want. Redeem the active codes before anything else so you spend free rerolls rather than Robux.
- Judged best race: Death Painting — the only Mythic race, a 2% roll
- Judged best clan: Okkotsu — Mythic at 0.25%, and the gate to Rika and the Rikka technique
- Rarest techniques: the Mythic tier at a 0.22% drop chance (Shrine, Projection, Limitless)
- Active codes have covered Race, Clan and Cursed Technique rerolls — claim them before spending

Shibuya BETA builds your sorcerer from three separate systems: your Race supplies innate passives and skills, your Clan adds perks and attributes that alter how you fight, and your Cursed Technique defines your main moveset. All three are rerollable, but they differ sharply in what they offer, how rare the good rolls are and what else they unlock — which is exactly what decides which one deserves your first rerolls. This overview compares the three dimensions at a high level; the fully ranked lists live on the dedicated race tier list, clan tier list and cursed technique tier list.
The three dimensions at a glance
Comparison
| Build dimension | What it decides | Reroll item | Rarest roll |
|---|---|---|---|
| Race | Innate passives, skills and stat buffers | Race Rerolls | Death Painting — Mythic tier at 2% |
| Clan | Perks and attributes that alter gameplay and fighting chance | Clan Rerolls | Okkotsu — Mythic at 0.25% |
| Cursed Technique | Your technique and its moveset | Cursed Technique Rerolls (Unique tier excluded) | Mythic techniques at 0.22% each |
The odds above are quoted at different granularity, and that matters when you compare them. Race rates describe a whole rarity tier, and because Death Painting is the only Mythic race, its 2% is effectively the chance of rolling it. Clan rates are per clan, so Okkotsu sits at 0.25% as a single named target. Technique drop chances are per technique, so the 0.22% Mythic rate applies to Shrine, Projection and Limitless individually.
Races: Death Painting stands alone
Races roll from four rarity tiers: Mythic at 2%, Legendary at 4%, Rare at 7% and Common at a heavyweight 87%. Death Painting is the only Mythic race and the ranked best race in the game, with the most valuable passives and active skills in its set:
- Brotherhood (passive) — sense friendly Death Paintings in the same Guild or Party through walls.
- Rot (passive) — when a player attempts to apply bleed, toxic blood may burst onto the opponent as retaliation.
- Cursed Reinforcement (passive) — a defensive stack that absorbs hits and reduces damage.
- Blood Throw (skill) — roll blood into your fist and hurl it at a target at close range.
- Blue Demon Variant — grants Demon Shift at Grade 2.
Most rolls land in the Common tier instead. Its two races have fairly similar perks, making them fairly interchangeable: Cursed Spirit grants a passive Cursed Reinforcement, while Human grants an innate +10% HP buffer for tanking more hits before falling. Being the most common also makes both unreliably weak as primary choices.
The Rare tier is where build planning gets interesting. Incarnated Sorcerer grants an innate +10% more Cursed Technique damage and a free Cursed Technique Skill before you complete the Trial — and the Trial, run through Yuki once you are Grade 2 or higher, is how you attain a Cursed Technique in the first place. Every race option is profiled on our races page, and the Grade system is explained in the sorcerer grades guide.
Clans: the strongest cross-system perks
Clans confer perks and attributes that alter your gameplay and fighting chance, and the S tier shows why this slot can reshape a build:
- Okkotsu (Mythic, 0.25%) — unlocks Rika when you unlock your Cursed Technique, and unlocks the Rika moveset when you find the Cursed Ring, a rare drop. Also grants an innate movement speed boost and +35 HP.
- Gojo (Legendary, 1%) — has a 3% chance to awaken Six Eyes, which lets you see the HP of other players, applies a permanent 15% cooldown reduction and grants infinite Cursed Energy. You keep Six Eyes even if you later roll off Gojo. Also grants +35 HP.
- Kamo (Legendary, 1%) — can body swap with a knocked player for the next 6 real-world hours, gaining their weapon and technique before the bodies swap back. Also grants +50 HP.
The overall pick among clans is Okkotsu: Rika is an incredibly powerful special-grade curse companion, and Okkotsu is the best well-rounded clan for enhancing damage and health simultaneously. If that is the roll you want, how to get Rika covers the companion and the Six Eyes guide covers the Gojo awakening; the full clan breakdown is on our clans page.
Clan rerolls come from redeeming codes or purchasing them with Robux — there are no reliable free-to-play methods for farming them organically as you play.
Cursed Techniques: rarity tiers and the Unique exceptions
Cursed Techniques roll from four rerollable tiers, each with a published drop chance:
| Rarity | Drop chance | Techniques at that rarity |
|---|---|---|
| Mythic | 0.22% | Shrine, Projection, Limitless — Anti-Gravity is also Mythic but currently unobtainable |
| Legendary | 11.1% | Ice, Blood |
| Rare | 22.06% | Flame, Light, Lightning |
| Common | 66.62% | Straw Doll, Mechamaru, Cursed Speech, Moon Dregs |
Unique-rarity techniques sit outside that system entirely: Cursed Technique rerolls cannot produce them, and each has its own obtainment method. Heavenly Restriction is currently marked unobtainable on its listing, Rikka is obtainable with Okkotsu, and Divergent Fists requires the Divergent Soul Item.
For the four rerollable tiers, Cursed Technique rerolls are purchased with Robux or obtained free by redeeming codes. Our cursed techniques page profiles the techniques, the technique tier list ranks them, and how to get cursed techniques walks through the acquisition routes, including Heavenly Restriction and Divergent Fists.
Where the three systems overlap
The three dimensions are not fully independent, which is why the best first reroll depends on your goal:
- Race feeds techniques. Incarnated Sorcerer grants +10% Cursed Technique damage and a free Cursed Technique Skill before the Trial, so the same technique performs better on that race.
- Clan gates technique content. Okkotsu unlocks Rika when you unlock your Cursed Technique and is the obtainment method for the Unique technique Rikka — content that no number of Cursed Technique rerolls can grant on its own.
In practice, a technique reroll is only half of some builds: if the technique you want is Rikka, the clan reroll has to come first.
Which reroll should you spend first?
Decision guide
Whichever branch fits, start with the free supply: a November 2026 snapshot of the codes page showed active codes granting reroll resources for every build system — Race, Clan and Cursed Technique — and availability changes over time, so the maintained list beats any cached answer. Because clan rerolls cannot be farmed organically, the free clan rerolls from codes are worth claiming even before you decide to chase Okkotsu.
Once you have a stockpile, the reroll guide covers the rerolling process itself, and each dedicated tier list above takes you from a high-level pick to a fully ranked list.
