Shibuya Special Grade Armor: Every Recipe, Unlock Cost and Which to Prepare For
All five Special Grade armor pieces in Roblox Shibuya [Beta]: crafting materials, Yen and rank unlock requirements, listed stats and talents, and which recipe fits your build.
Special Grade is the top armor tier in Roblox Shibuya [Beta]: the crafting menu lets you craft armor at Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 4 and Special Grade, and Special Grade sits above them all. Five pieces are listed in that tier, and the sections below break down each recipe's unlock requirements, crafting materials and rewards.
Quick answer
Every Special Grade armor needs the Special Grade rank plus a Yen payment (14K to 20K per piece) to unlock, then a short material list to craft. Infinity Veil is Limitless-only and Shrine Vestments is Shrine-only; King's Lacquered Armor, Oni Horn Mail and Bearer's Vestments have no technique requirement.
- Cheapest unlocks: Oni Horn Mail and Bearer's Vestments at 14K Yen, King's Lacquered Armor at 15K, then either technique vestment at 20K
- Repeat materials worth stockpiling: King's Tsuba, Cleaver Shards and Centipede Plating
- Technique checks: Infinity Veil requires Limitless and Shrine Vestments requires Shrine — no other piece in the tier checks your technique
Special Grade armor recipes and unlock requirements
Each recipe in the tier is listed with two separate requirement sets: unlock requirements (rank, Yen and sometimes a technique) that gate the recipe, and crafting requirements (materials) that the craft itself consumes.
Data table
| Armor | Crafting requirements | Unlock requirements |
|---|---|---|
| King's Lacquered Armor | 1x King's Tsuba, 1x Cleaver Shard, 2x Centipede Plating | 15K Yen + Special Grade rank |
| Oni Horn Mail | 4x Skeleton Arms, 2x Centipede Playing, 1x Cleaver Shard | 14K Yen + Special Grade rank |
| Bearer's Vestments | Listed the same as Oni Horn Mail: 4x Skeleton Arms, 2x Centipede Playing, 1x Cleaver Shard | 14K Yen + Special Grade rank |
| Infinity Veil (Limitless only) | 1x Blue Demon Horn, 1x King's Tsuba | 20K Yen + Special Grade rank + Limitless user |
| Shrine Vestments (Shrine only) | 1x King's Tsuba, 2x Cleaver Shards, 2x Centipede Plating | 20K Yen + Special Grade rank + Shrine user |

Two listing quirks deserve a quick in-game check. The Oni Horn Mail and Bearer's Vestments recipes name a material called "Centipede Playing," while King's Lacquered Armor and Shrine Vestments call it "Centipede Plating" — it reads like the same material under two spellings, but confirm the exact item name in your crafting menu before you stockpile. And Bearer's Vestments mirrors Oni Horn Mail exactly — same recipe, same unlock cost, same stats and talent — which may be how the game lists it or a duplicated entry, so look both entries up in game before farming a separate material set.
What each Special Grade armor gives you
The unlock cost only opens the recipe — the real choice is what each piece does once it is crafted.
King's Lacquered Armor is the straightforward defensive option: +8% DMG Reduction, +8% Maximum HP, and the Bulwark talent, which makes you take 20% less Posture DMG. Nothing in its kit depends on your technique, so it suits any build that mainly wants to stay alive longer.
Oni Horn Mail leans toward sustain and curse defense: +10% CE Regen, +12% Maximum HP, and the Curse Ward talent, which cuts the damage you take from Cursed Spirits by 12%. Bearer's Vestments lists the identical effects, so as far as the listings go the two names differ not at all (see the notes above).
The last two pieces turn your technique into armor value. Infinity Veil, for Limitless users, gives +3% DMG Reduction, +8% Maximum CE, +12% Limitless DMG, and a 20% shorter cooldown on Lapse Blue. Shrine Vestments, for Shrine users, gives +7% CE Regen, +3% DMG, +12% Shrine DMG, and a 20% shorter cooldown on Dismantle. They are the only Special Grade pieces with bonuses tied to a specific technique, so if you have committed to either one, that vestment is the piece that rewards the commitment.
Bulwark and Curse Ward are both armor talents — the Shibuya armor talents page covers that system.
Which recipe should you prepare for?
Start from your technique, because it decides whether part of the tier is even available to you.
Decision guide
Whichever piece you settle on, the material lists overlap heavily, so preparing once covers more than one goal:
- King's Tsuba appears in three recipes — King's Lacquered Armor, Infinity Veil and Shrine Vestments — so one in stock serves whichever you commit to.
- Cleaver Shards appear in four listings: 1x for King's Lacquered Armor, 1x for Oni Horn Mail, 1x for Bearer's Vestments and 2x for Shrine Vestments.
- Centipede Plating is the other workhorse: 2x in King's Lacquered Armor, 2x in Oni Horn Mail and Bearer's Vestments (where the listing spells it "Centipede Playing"), and 2x in Shrine Vestments.
- Only two materials are exclusive to one goal: Skeleton Arms (4x) only feed Oni Horn Mail and Bearer's Vestments, and Blue Demon Horn (1x) only feeds Infinity Veil.
In practice, a pool of King's Tsuba, Cleaver Shards and Centipede Plating prepares you for most of the tier. Add Skeleton Arms if you want Oni Horn Mail, or a Blue Demon Horn if you are a Limitless user chasing Infinity Veil.
Getting ready: rank, Yen and materials
Every recipe in the tier checks the same three boxes:
- Special Grade rank — all five recipes require it. The Shibuya sorcerer grades guide breaks down the rank ladder you are climbing.
- Yen — budget 14K for Oni Horn Mail or Bearer's Vestments, 15K for King's Lacquered Armor, and 20K for Infinity Veil or Shrine Vestments. The Shibuya how to get yen guide covers building that balance.
- Materials — King's Tsuba, Cleaver Shards, Centipede Plating, Skeleton Arms and Blue Demon Horn in the combinations listed above. The Shibuya how to get crafting materials guide covers gathering them.
For the crafting system as a whole, start with the Shibuya crafting guide, and for the rest of the armor line below this tier, see Shibuya armor. If you have not picked a technique yet, the Shibuya how to get cursed techniques guide is worth a read before you sink Yen and materials into a vestment your build cannot use.
