Last updated:

Press E to infuse your attacks with cursed energy in Shibuya [Beta], and see how crafted equipment raises Maximum CE and CE Regen, while the Gojo and Hakari clans grant two different forms of infinite Cursed Energy.

Quick answer

Press E to infuse your attacks with cursed energy in Shibuya [Beta]. Cursed Energy is also a tracked character stat: Maximum CE sets how much you have, CE Regen sets how fast it refills, and crafted equipment raises both numbers, while the Gojo and Hakari clans grant two different forms of infinite Cursed Energy.

  • Press E to infuse your attacks with cursed energy — a standard combat control listed alongside M1, M2/R, Q, F and X.
  • Armor pieces and weapon Fold Bonuses add Maximum CE and CE Regen percentages from their crafting recipes.
  • The Gojo and Hakari clans (1% rolls each) grant two different forms of infinite Cursed Energy.

How to infuse attacks with cursed energy

Press E. Infusing your attacks with cursed energy is one of Shibuya [Beta]'s standard combat controls, published by the developer in the official game description. It sits on the same list as the moves you use in every exchange: M1 to attack, M2 or R for a critical attack, Q to dash, F to block or parry, and X for uppercut or rushdown.

It sits on the developer's official control list alongside the standard combat inputs. If you are still learning the layout, the Shibuya controls guide collects every keybind in one place.

Maximum CE and CE Regen: the two numbers behind your cursed energy

Beyond the E input, the game tracks Cursed Energy as a character stat with two values. Maximum CE is how much cursed energy you can hold, and CE Regen is how quickly that pool refills. Whenever a piece of gear mentions cursed energy, it is changing one or both of these numbers, so knowing which is which tells you exactly what an upgrade does for you.

Equipment that raises Maximum CE and CE Regen

Crafted equipment is the dependable way to raise either value. The percentages come from the listed crafting recipes for armor and weapons, and each bonus is tied to that specific unlocked item — what you gain depends on which pieces you craft and wear.

EquipmentMaximum CECE RegenNotes
A Grade 4 armor piece+3%+6%Values come from its listed crafting recipe
Grade 2 armor piece (Hugger Stitchwork)+6%+8%3K Yen, Grade 2
Sunforged Spear Fold Bonus+6%+12%5K Yen unlock; also -10% Posture DMG
Special Grade armor piece—+10%14K Yen and Special Grade unlock; also +12% Maximum HP and the Curse Ward talent

The Special Grade piece shows how much a single slot can add once you climb the grades: its recipe unlocks at 14K Yen with the Special Grade, and besides the +10% CE Regen it grants Maximum HP +12% plus the Curse Ward talent, which makes you take 12% less damage from Cursed Spirits. The Shibuya armor page and crafting guide cover the recipes behind these bonuses.

Clan perks: two routes to infinite Cursed Energy

Two Legendary clans interact directly with your cursed energy, and both sit behind a 1% roll.

Gojo is the permanent route. Rolling the clan gives you a 3% chance to awaken Six Eyes, which lets you see other players' HP, applies a permanent 15% cooldown reduction, and grants infinite Cursed Energy. Once Six Eyes is awakened, you can even roll off the Gojo clan and keep it — the infinite Cursed Energy applies as long as Six Eyes stays awakened.

Hakari is the burst route. Every hit you land has a 1-in-200 chance to grant infinite Cursed Energy and health regen for 30 seconds, and a visual aura appears when it procs. Where Gojo's bonus is a permanent trait of an awakened character, Hakari's effect triggers per hit and wears off after half a minute.

Both routes start with a 1% Legendary clan roll — and Gojo adds a further 3% awakening chance on top — so crafted gear percentages remain what every character can rely on to raise Maximum CE and CE Regen. If you are chasing a specific bloodline, the clans overview, clan tier list and reroll guide cover the clan system, and the Six Eyes guide goes deeper on the Gojo awakening.

From there it is build planning: infusion is one keypress away, and every CE bonus you craft raises what you have and how fast it comes back, while the Gojo and Hakari clans add two different forms of infinite Cursed Energy. The Shibuya progression guide shows how those numbers fit into grades, techniques and the rest of your setup.
